After reading many fun and creativie activities that I could do with my students in the classroom, the one that appealed to me most was:
"Take lots of pictures while on a class field trip. Have students write a caption for each picture, post the photos and captions to a Web site to create a virtual field trip."
I thought this could be a really fun and creative project. I feel this really enforces technology in the classroom because not only are the students and teachers using a digital camera to take pictures, but you can also have fun with it by creating a web page after the field trip. Many teachers just have students write about the field trip, but now with technology we can use cameras to capture everything from the field trip and this makes it easier for students to remember special or educational moments from the field trip. I also thought this was an effective idea because students can use the class website as well. The teacher can post the pictures on the website and each student can make a fun or educational comment at the bottom of each photo.
This idea is not only engaging for the students but they also can capture their memories from the field trip. At the end of the field trip they have thier own virtual field trip because of the digital imaging. Students would be able to enjoy these pictures throughout the rest of the year and it is also a great way for teachers to remember their students and special moments that year.
